A typical Hamptons home runs six to ten separate VLANs, essentially dedicated lanes within your network. Lighting runs on its own VLAN, TVs and audio on another, general internet browsing on another, and guest Wi-Fi is kept completely separate from your main network. That means a guest’s phone or laptop isn’t sitting on the same network as your smart locks and security cameras, and someone streaming in one room isn’t going to slow down a video call in another.
